The 100-plus members of FWC include general contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and service related firms representing every facet and component of construction.

Services provided to members include:

Communication: FWC produces the Fax Tree, a vehicle to disseminate time-sensitive information to its members regarding upcoming bids and important meetings. FWC also produces its Newsletter, a bi-monthly publication containing corporate and legislative information, a calendar of events, meetings and seminars, and program-specific articles.

Legislative Lobbying: FWC advocates for its members through political and economic empowerment and in conjunction with a strong network of allied associations in the construction industry and other women's business organizations.

Networking: Monthly dinner meetings are held locally for members allowing the sharing of information on upcoming projects and problems encountered in owning or mamging a member firm. FWC's annual fundraiser, Annual Awards Reception, is attended by many majority contractors, suppliers and property owners allowing members to solidify business contacts.

Public Participation: FWC participates on many committees and advisory boards for private and public projects such as: the ABN AMRO Technology Center, the Chicago Lakefront Partners for Economic Empowerment Contracting Committee (Soldier Filed), the Chicago Public Schools' Capital Improvement Program Blue Ribbon Advisory Committee and the UIC South Campus Development Contracting Committee.
